Why did the screensaver on my Roku® streaming player change?

Background

A screensaver is an application that fills the TV screen with moving images or patterns when your Roku player is not in use. Screensavers were originally designed to prevent phosphor burn-in on older TV’s, but are now used primarily for entertainment. Your Roku player comes with a default screensaver that appears automatically when the Roku player is not being used.

From time to time we change the default screensaver on Roku players, and in some cases run different screensavers on select players.

How do I change the screensaver?

Open the settings menu on your Roku player to preview and change to a different screensaver.
